Extra long curtain poles

Extra long curtain poles

At Walcot House, we offer extra long curtain poles and tracked poles to suit many situations...

...such as bifold doors, wide patio doors and french windows or glazed walls.

Many of our standard pole sets come in spans up to 400cm or 480cm, or, if you order by component, up to 10m long!

LONGER CURTAIN POLE SPANS (UP TO 1000CM / 10M) CAN BE ACHIEVED USING PASSING BRACKETS AND PASSING RINGS WITH MULTIPLE POLE JOINS, OR BY USING OUR TRACKED WRAPPED POLES WITH OVERCLIP BRACKETS, CONNECTOR BRACKETS AND 2 X 5M LENGTH TRACKS WHICH YOUR FITTER CAN INSERT INTO THE POLES ON SITE.

You can build your own pole using our components section, but you might want to consult one of our recommended designers or one of our team for more advice for spans this long as special delivery arrangements will be required, and access needs to be considered.

Our top recommendations for curtain poles over 600cm are:

30mm diameter stainless steel curtain poles

30mm and 50mm stainless steel curtain poles
Passing brackets, passing rings and multiple pole joins are required.

50mm diameter wooden wrapped curtain poles with tracks

Wrapped and tracked 50mm diameter curtain poles
The 5m track can be supplied separately and inserted onsite. Overclip and connector brackets are required.

50mm diameter brushed bronze, antique brass curtain poles

30mm and 50mm brushed bronze curtain poles
Passing brackets, passing rings and multiple pole joins are required.

What span do you need between brackets to ensure your pole doesn't bow?

Remember - at the bottom of each of our pole product pages (in the components section), we show, in red, the span we recommend between brackets, so you can work out how many brackets you will need. There are also handy links to all the brackets and rings for that pole.

SO.....

to order extra long stainless steel or brushed bronze curtain poles:

  • Choose from 30mm or 50mm in stainless steel or brushed bronze
  • View that pole in our components section
    • add the required length to your basket
    • note the recommended span between brackets
  • Using the links in the table at the bottom of the pole product page, add the right number of brackets (standard brackets at each end and the centre plus additional passing brackets along the span as required).
  • Add passing rings (allow 1 ring for every 10cm of pole)
  • Don't forget to choose finials from our wide range for the diameter pole you have selected
  • Any problems, email or call us.

OR.....

to order extra long wrapped and tracked curtain poles:

  • Choose which wrap you want on your pole, and decide if you want stainless steel or brushed bronze hardware
  • View the product in our components section:
    • add the required length to your basket
    • note the recommended span between brackets
  • Using the links in the table at the bottom of the pole product page, add the right number of brackets (standard brackets at each end, connector brackets at each join and overclip brackets as required along the spans)
  • Consider extra support arms for your brackets, especially at each end
  • Don't forget to choose finials for a 50mm diameter pole.
  • If you would like the track to be left in 5m pieces, add a note in the 'special order/delivery requirements' box at the bottom of your basket before checking out.
  • Any problems, email or call us.

TOP TIP

If you are doing a wide span, and your curtains are very long or heavy, use our architrave brackets (if you are ordering by component) or vertical support arm add-ons (if you are ordering a pole set).

TOP TIP

If you need to have your curtain pole supplied in one piece (for example if you don't want a centre bracket as you are using a very light voile or a single curtain) some poles are available in 300cm lengths and most poles are available in 240cm lengths in one piece.

Measuring Guide

What curtain pole length do I need?

Walcot House measuring guide for curtain poles

Measure the width of your window (cm)

Add a minimum of 15cm either side, preferably more, but for full curtains or wide windows allow at least 25cm if you have the room, excluding finials (decorative pole ends).

Choose a stock length or cut to size yourself for non standard lengths (we promise it's really easy!)
Helpful tip: Ensure there is room for your finials beyond the ends of your pole.
