Our wooden poles are all hand finished in house by Alice & Neil. From sanding, staining & waxing to buffing & fabric wrapping, each pole is finished with great care and attention.

Back in 1999, our founder, Samantha Sandberg, sold her London based curtain making business and, using the proceeds, set about a new venture. A year later, Walcot House was in business, supplying John Lewis with innovative contemporary eyelet curtains, curtain poles and accessories.
After exhibiting at Decorex, in central London (a top end trade show for interior design professionals), Walcot House gained a trade following, and to this day continues to supply many of the interior designers, soft furnishers and curtain makers we first met there.
Moving with the times, Walcot's founder, intrigued by the efficiencies and opportunities e-commerce had provided her as a customer, embarked on an e-commerce project to provide Walcot House customers with the same benefits.
The project, headed up by Sam's daughter Alice, had a simple brief: Make Walcot House curtain poles easier to order and more accessible to a wider audience of professionals.
